According to Modern Medicine there are different systems which work together and combine to make the human body.In Ayurveda there is something more profound in terms of basic functioning of the individual & its relation with the environment.
At the basis of organs are principles, basic constituents, motivating factors, structural mechanisms that uphold all the organs & unify all them together in wholeness ie.structure, transformation & movement.
Structure is a very important aspect. This is a principal quality available in each organ irrespective of which organ it is.This solidity, wholeness, integrity of the structure is called Kapha.
Organs also get transformed or change and this changing value which allows them to transform, evolve, metabolise things for example food divided into pieces then reassembled to be organs and organ systems .All this reconstruction, transformation, change, modification etc is also an important principle of metabolism. How physiology transforms from one state to other. This principle of transformation, metabolism & change is called Pitta.
Movement is the principle of energy. One organ communicating with others, hormones, blood, oxygen, electrical activity in the nervous system all are movements.Movement itself is a basic principle that can be healthy or damaged , more basic than the organs. The value of movement is called Vata.
Deeper there are elements that constitute
- Vata Air & Space
- Pitta Fire & Water
- Kapha. Earth & Water
Human body is made up of Pancha Mahabhutas 5 elements and 3 Doshas.
“Yatha pinde thatha Brahmande”
Human body is not just one individual entity but a part of nature. We are made of laws that create the universe. These laws have intimate relations with our body.
